Holiday Session: Forever Came Calling “Happy Holidays, You Bastard” (Blink-182 cover)

This Holiday season, Punks in Vegas is teaming up with some of our favorite musicians to raise money and awareness for music education with special Holiday editions of the Stripped Down Sessions.

On December 20th, we will release all the holiday session audio tracks as a free, downloadable EP, and we ask that if you like what you hear, you follow the link to donate to the Manilow Music Foundation, a non-profit organization that donates instruments and materials to school music programs, a non-profit organization that donates instruments and materials to school music programs. Music education is something very important to all of us here at Punks in Vegas and we’re happy to be able to help out this year.

Hailing from Twentynine Palms, CA, Forever Came Calling is a band on the rise. The group just finished a U.S. tour with fellow pop punkers Handguns, who they also released a split with on Pure Noise Records. The band also made it onto the Absolute 100 for 2011, a collection of Absolute Punk’s 100 artists to watch out for.

According to FCC frontman Joe Candelaria, “Music is such a huge part of my life, from the drives to shows to the show itself. I found this outlet when I was in 7th grade. I learned basic theory and it taught me I could express myself through an instrument and words. I believe music staying in schools is important because art is a representation of time and if we lose programs like music we have no art and we’re kind of bound to being drones to our cell phones. Music is beautiful and kids should always have the option to study it.”

For their Holiday Stripped Down Session, FCC chose Blink 182’s Holiday classic “Happy Holidays, You Bastard.”
