Be Like Max, The CG’s, Narrowed and more announced for Summer Bummer 6, Aug. 21, 2016 at Vinyl Las Vegas

The lineup for the 6th annual Summer Bummer has been announced, taking place on Aug. 21 at Vinyl Las Vegas (inside the Hard Rock Hotel) and bringing together a strong variety of local talent, including punk rockers Anti-Vision, pop punkers Tonight We Fight and ska/punks The CG’s (see below for the full list).

So what is Summer Bummer? “Summer Bummer first started as a house show, then moved to Hell Pop Comics (in The Arts Factory) for a number of years after that” explains Summer Bummer founder and Be Like Max frontman Charley Fine. “In the past it’s been an outside event where we grill to raise a little money for touring bands.”

This year’s event differs from previous years, as it’s now an all-locals affair. Fine describes how the lineup was chosen: “I just picked some of my favorite local bands to what I thought would be a really strong show. I wanted to keep this year’s show an all local event for the sake of bringing as many people out as possible. Vinyl is a big venue for a local show, but if we all help promote I think it’ll be really great!”

As Fine mentioned – this year’s Summer Bummer also differs in its location, moving to Vinyl inside the Hard Rock on Paradise. “It’s been a lot of fun in years past but recently The Factory changed ownership and our friends at Hell Pop had to pass on this year’s show” Fine explains. “Vinyl has been open to hosting local shows so I figured I’d give them a shot and they were all about it. The big difference (for obvious reasons) is we have to charge for tickets, but pre-sales are half off at $5 a pop so it’s still pretty cheap. I’m really looking forward to the upgrade of a nice stage with quality sound because it allows you to hear all the bands to their potential.”

Tickets for Summer Bummer 2016 are on sale now and more details can be found on Facebook.
