Beach Slang, The Melvins, Chuck Ragan and more announced for Neon Reverb 2016

Neon Reverb, the homegrown music festival founded in 2008, is back for a 2016 edition, its first since going on hiatus after 2013.

“Neon Reverb is super excited to be coming back next month” exclaims James Woodbridge, one of the festival’s organizers. “The team has expanded beyond the original three organizers (Thirry Harlin, Jason Aragon, and me) to include Mike Henry (of Bunkhouse and DTP) and Ronald Corso (of 11th Street Records), and with the bigger team we’ve made the festival better than ever. The time was right for us to come back because downtown has gotten through some of its growing pains, and it became apparent that the support and enthusiasm needed to make this event happen was out there. We’re very psyched about the lineup we’ve put together (with still more to come!) and the way it fulfills our continuing goal of highlighting the local music scene, by putting our bands on stages in our venues with great touring acts.”

Woodbridge is right to be excited about the lineup, which was announced today. Beach Slang is playing, and that should be all I need to say to sell you on this. But if you need more reasons, how do Chuck Ragan, Sage Francis, The Melvins, La Sera, Ty Segall and a few dozen others sound?

They’ll be joining locals like Mercy Music, Good Grief, Rusty Maples, Jesse Pino, Same Sex Mary, and Illicitor Thursday, March 10 through Sunday, March 13 at Backstage Bar & Billiards, Beauty Bar, Bunkhouse and Fremont Country Club.

The full lineup can be found on the Neon Reverb website.

Festival passes are priced at $50 and are on sale today via http://www.neonreverb.com/ and in person at 11th Street Records, while $15 single show tickets will go on sale on Feb. 25.
