Break-ups: Wax Pig Melting (2011-2015)

We’re sad to report that grunge rock band Wax Pig Melting has decided to call it a day.

A message posted today on their Facebook page by frontman Brian Gibson reads:

Hi, we’re toast.

Look out for new projects this year and beyond. Some of the best memories I have of this life are playing under this alias. We’ve had the best members, producers, friends, and new family that I would never trade for anything.

I don’t know how else to say that.

No one has to know but me I guess, but thank you to everyone that’s been to a show, bought a shirt, cd, bleached shirt, or grabbed art from our exhibition.

To be honest though, this is all really Brian’s fault.

Hope you had a decent time as well.

– Brian Gibson

Gibson followed up on his own Facebook:

Seriously, This band made life worth living for 4 years.

I met anyone that’s worth mentioning in my life through chasing my musical pipedream, and this project was insanely beneficial to my self esteem and social skills. You can guess in three joking attempts on why this had to break up so many times.

Either way, Go support Candy Warpop // Bounty Hunter Brothers // Alex and His Meal Ticket // The Solid Suns // anything K. Kilfeather does // Monogrim //Luna Flore or anyone you run into that emotes in a way you may enjoy. Mostly, just go find them.

You can get our album “Jaded X1,193” on waxpigmelting.bandcamp.com

But we’re over. No Forgotten City. No Benefit show with the best lineup ever.

We still have our record W/OUND that will be worked out by the homiest of homies and myself, somehow.

I hope to release a few of the 7 backburner Wax Pig songs under another alias sometime soon, also. Who knows though.

We wish Brian and the rest of Wax Pig Melting all the best of luck in future projects!
