Ex-Holding Onto Sound members start new band, announce first show

It’s been almost a year since Vegas punk rockers Holding Onto Sound played their last show (the benefit for Yayo Taco on March 1, 2013). And despite the band’s presence still being felt in the local music scene through the various acoustic performances from co-frontman/bassist Zabi Naqshband and guitarist Bob Gates, the intensity of the full band dynamic has been sorely missed.

But the drought is over, as 3/4 of HOTS – the aforementioned Naqshband and Gates along with drummer Vanessa Tidwell – are finally ready to take the stage again. Their newly announced band Illicitor will play their debut show tomorrow, February 1 at The Artistic Armory, after having rehearsed in secret since almost the beginning of the HOTS hiatus. The local show also features friends The Quitters, TheCore. and Narrowed.

For more information on Illicitor, check out their shiny new Facebook page and give them a “like” while you’re there: https://www.facebook.com/illicitorband
