It was a time for celebration, dancing and all around fun as bluegrass punks Old Man Markley played their 5th and 6th Vegas shows of the year at the Lounge inside the Palms hotel. The band was celebrating the 30th birthday of the band’s namesake and washboard player Ryan Markley, as well as the 4 year anniversary of the band’s inception. Soulful rockers The Shandaleers opened up the first night and blew the crowd away with their musical prowess and the powerful voice of vocalist Shanda Cisneros, while post-apocalyptic folk punks Scrap Iron Saints rocked the second night, their theatrical talent surpassed only by their song-writing skills. And if you look closely, a certain Youth Brigade frontman joined Old Man Markley on stage to provide vocals on the excellent “We’re In” cover.
