Though I’m sure many out-of-towners were unfamiliar with local openers Guilty By Association, the crowd was quite full, and many were moshing along with the sin cty hardcore punks. Next up was Left Alone, who I love, probably due to their similarity to one of my favorite bands, Rancid.  They really got the crowd dancing to ska-infused tracks like “Sad Story,” “City to City” and “Done Wrong.”

Third up was Huntingon Beach’s Guttermouth, which was a wild way to start a long punk rock weekend. Between stage antics such as pulling off a 5th of liquor, throwing microphones at crowd hecklers, and puking on each other, the band still managed to knock out “Perfect World,” “Lipstick” and “She’s Got the Look.”

Last up was Strung Out. They opened with “Too Close to See,” an amazingly fast, technical song, which appropriately set the mood for the rest of the show and got the crowd going nuts. It was actually my first time seeing Strung Out, and I was amazed to see how they nailed such complicated songs.
