Las Vegas upstart punks Sounds of Threat sign with SquidHat Records, announce new album

SquidHatRecords recently announced the signing of Sounds Of Threat, a local high energy punk band with a throw-back sound and frenetic live show. Sounds Of Threat is currently recording their debut album at Camel Hump Studios in Las Vegas, which will be released by SquidHat Records this October.

“Sounds Of Threat bring a youthful, channeled angst and respect for their influences to our roster,” said SquidHat Records President and founder, Allan Carter. “They never fail to get the pit going and, if we can capture that energy on their album, we will have bottled lightning.”

Formed in November of 2009 and based in the heart of East side Las Vegas, Sounds Of Threat is Jesse Young on lead vocals, Tyler Whitacre on bass, Chad Henley on drums, with Amy Pate and Aaron Prieto sharing the guitar responsibilities. Together they create raw, melodic and pure punk rock with, for a group so young, a shocking reverence for the pioneering punk bands of the early 80s. This band’s self-proclaimed purpose is to have fun and to put on a great show, but their angry, catchy songs and chaotic, crowd pleasing live performances will ultimately introduce a younger generation to the power and energy of a simpler, more honest time when punk rock was an outlet, not a Broadway show.

Keep an eye out for the release of their first full length in October, and for the extensive tour that will follow.
