Music: God’s America stream “Worthless In Deth” off new LP ‘Merge With the Infinite’

Today we’re bringing you a stream of “Worthless In Deth,” a brand new song from Vegas powerviolence band God’s America, from their long-gestating new album Merge With the Infinite.

God’s America has been playing in Vegas since 2011, when former Jesus, Fuck the Sun members came together under the name Seeds of Rape.

“Seeds [of Rape, God’s America’s original name] came from a joint venture between Brett [Kasden] and myself,” God’s America’s Andres Wade explains. “When he moved out of state, we had a thing going called Dead Sharks. After he moved back, he came at me with the idea of starting a hardcore band. I started writing riffs and the rest, as they say, is history.”

Merge With the Infinite was recoded 2013-2015 at the Shred Room by Geoff Bergman, mastered by Dan Randall at Mammoth Sound and will be released by not one, but three different labels in various formats and regions.

“We got linked up with A389 after our first show with Full of Hell” says Wade. “Dom [Romeo, A389 label head] had asked them about bands they played with and our name came up. He expressed interest in our demo and asked us if we would be game to do a 7 inch. We recorded the lp with plans to release it through A389, but Dom was slowing the label down. Behind the scenes he was talking to Sandro [Gessner]/RSR and Bob/Deep Six about handling our release, which is killer cause I grew up with these labels. It’s unreal!”

Working with these labels allows the notoriously DIY group of musicians a way to get their music to as many people as possible.

“It’s tight because it gets our record in spots that it might not get into otherwise” Wade says. “We still release stuff on our own, but working with labels, especially overseas labels, really opens a lot of doors.”

And in a somewhat unusual move, those overseas fans ended up with first crack at Merge With the Infinite.

“Originally, I thought the record was going to be pressed once and split between the labels” Wade explains. “RSR did their own press, which is out now, and Deep Six is doing their own press, which will be released in July. It’s like The Clash, I think it’s tight.”

The RSR Euro Merge With the Infinite press is out now. The U.S. press will be out on Deep Six Records on vinyl and digitally through A389 Recordings in July.

In the meantime, you have two chances to catch God’s America live, May 13-15 at the Summergrind Fest in Los Angeles and May 31 here in Vegas at 11th Street Records with CHRCH and Demon Lung.
