Music: Groomlake stream ‘Side Effects’ EP, tour kick off 5/17 at The Warehouse

Today we’re bringing you a full stream of Side Effects, the new EP from rock band Groomlake.

If Groomlake sounds familiar, there’s a reason. “Our previous name was InReflect,” Groomlake explains “and our former vocalist, Elliot Rivera, was making a joke calling the band Groomlake Mass Masked Massacre Theory. When he left, we decided to change the name to Groomlake because it was too long to say.”

The band recorded their latest release, the Side Effects EP, with Safely’s Jonas Vece. “The whole process wasn’t just a normal recording, it was a fun and learning experience” the band describes. “With Jonas, everything went smooth, and he’s an awesome dude to work with.”

Fans of the band will get a chance to see them live very soon, as their tour with Twin Cities kicks off this Tuesday, May 17,  at The Warehouse. “Originally, we were planning a three week tour by ourselves” the band explains. “Our guitarist Alain Ambrocio (aka Beans), talked to Twins Cities’ Mikey Hadda, and in the end we decided to collaborate together. We’re Looking forward to exploring around the cities, and meeting new people and of course, chilling with the road dogs Twin Cities. #beans #wheresthesweeper.”

More information on that show, which also features Mercy Music and Blast Flashes, can be found on Facebook. Side Effects, which features Alaska’s Tyler Kawada on the track “Lost in Time,” will be available June 11 via Bandcamp.
