Music: New Cold War ‘New Cold War’ EP

Today we’re bringing you a full stream of the self-titled, debut EP from Las Vegas punk rock supergroup New Cold War. Started as an outlet for Andy Harrison after his departure from Surrounded by Thieves, the band is comprised of some of the most talented musicians in town, with Harrison and John Brown (Battle Born) on guitars, Cody Leavitt (The People’s Whiskey) on bass and Luis Mendez (The People’s Whiskey) and Micah Malcolm (The Quitters) splitting time behind the drums. Brown, Harrison and Leavitt all have lead vocal roles and there’s a special guest appearance from Mike Janoff of Guilty By Association on the EP’s first track.

According to Leavitt “Andy had a bunch of songs already written when he left Surrounded by Thieves. I knew most of the songs from when I was in the band and Micah, Luis, John and I had already been jamming together at Camel Hump Studios. We have to be serious with our main bands. We can only take on so many shows. With New Cold War, we have the opportunity to play more.”

The EP will be available at the band’s debut show on March 14 at The Artistic Armory. If you can’t make the show but still want the tunes, the music will be available digitally the same day as the show.
