Good for: Pump-up exercise music at Bruno’s Downtown Gym or turnt ambience for your morning yoga session

Rating: 8/10

GoldBoot, the electro band of Las Vegas melodic-hardcore group YouInSeries member Logan Lanning, is hard to knock.

With titillating, textured sounds and syncopated rhythms courtesy of drummer Bobby Lucy, the hopeless and mindless disco-electronica of Blackwhitegold gets the job done and its point across. “Pretty Cold” is a highlight with an attitude and swagger recalling any 80s-influenced pop favorites.

It’s really not even my kind of pop-infused music. Without going into punk history and punk’s attitude on the legacy of disco-related genres, music without any awareness is noise. So recommending Blackwhitegold as a timeworthy release probably says more about a vapid culture in Las Vegas life than it positively promotes the band. Still – I’m telling you to pick up this record RIGHT NOW.
