Two chances to catch skatepunk legends JFA this Saturday

Arizona skatepunk legends JFA, who last played Vegas over Memorial Day weekend in 2014, are returning this Saturday, January 24, for not one but two shows!

The first is an all-ages gig that will take place at the new OMD Venue st 6 p.m. and feature a bevy of locals including Sector 7-G, Slut Monkeys, Trap Girl and Bitch n Dudes.

The second is a 21+ affair taking place at 9 p.m. at The Dive with locals Unfair Fight, Hard Pipe Hitters and Brutal Resistance.

We reached out to JFA frontman Brian Brannon to find out how the double dose of JFA in Vegas came about:

I remember being a kid and having to sneak into shows or worse, NOT being able to sneak into shows, and man, that sucked. So the last thing we want to do is play somewhere and not let people under a certain age come to our show. So that’s why a little while ago we vowed to play nothing but all ages shows. Then our buddy Tim Thurtle offered us to play two shows in Vegas–one all ages and then a 21 and over show on the same weekend–and we thought heck yeah, the best of both worlds!

So if you want tons of live energy with an over the top crowd in a DIY atmosphere just like it was back in the day, then the all ages show is the place to be–because the kids know where it’s at, and all our ages shows are always off the charts. But if you want to have a few drinks and party with the band into the night (and you got an ID showing you’re 21), come on over to the Dive Bar show. Or better yet, do both. Because after everything that’s going to go down at the OMD show, I can guarantee, you’ll be ready for a drink!
