Stripped Down Session: Dead Country “Euro Thrash”

Dead Country is a band I wasn’t familiar with before they were announced as openers for Alkaline Trio’s west coast tour, but all it took was one listen for them to get my attention. They play rock music with an obvious punk influence, bridging the gap between bands like Alkaline Trio and bands like Queens of the Stone Age, and they are damn good at what they do. Before their set at the Hard Rock Café on the Strip in Las Vegas, Dead Country vocalist/guitarist Nick Long was nice enough to sit down with Punks in Vegas to record a Stripped Down Session. Stripped Down Session: Dave Hause of The Loved Ones “C’Mon Kid”

The song is called C’Mon Kid, and can be found both on the 2009 Revival Tour compilation (acoustic) and on Resolutions (electric). ...

Stripped Down Session: Nothington “In Flames”

Van trouble, bar fights, and a mysteriously absent sound guy weren’t enough to stop Nothington from putting on an awesome show at the Bunkhouse on Monday night. While they had some free time in Vegas, Jay Northington and touring banjo player Andy Brown were nice enough to stop by the Poplar Center for Cultural Excellence to film a Punks in Vegas Stripped Down Session. The song is called "In Flames," and you can hear it on their mostly acoustic EP More Than Obvious, out now on Red Scare Industries. ...
