Life Is Shit Festival Returns to The Dive Bar 9/23/2023

Celebrating it’s 10-year anniversary, the Life is Shit festival is returning to the Dive Bar this weekend.  It is a free/donation event, starting at 4:20pm with our homies in Bell Toll, and ending with it’s last act Vicious Vampira going on at 2AM.  Checkout the press release below, as well as the full schedule. This was my first time seeing the iconic band Weezer, and my only regret was not seeing them sooner. Going into the show, I wasn’t sure how it was going to go. It’s easy for a band to fall into performances becoming routine, especially for artists that have been on stage for three decades. As a fan, it is always disappointing, because you can tell, and the energy is just lacking. That past experience, coupled with the venue being a bit of an odd choice as a theater, I was a bit worried. From the moment they came on stage with My Name Is Jonas, all those concerns were swept away. Their banter between songs still feels natural and engaging, and not a rehearsed line that the stage hands could mimic from hearing it every night like clockwork. Our friends at The Punk Rock Museum were kind enough to invite us out to the opening celebration (and Joe’s Birthday) of their new Joe Strummer section. Amongst the attendees were Fat Mike, CJ Ramone, Joe Escalante, Linda Ramone, (DJ) Shepard Fairey as well as several local promoters, band members, and record labels.  Artifacts in the new Joe Strummer section include  Joe’s Telecaster guitar, and Marshall head, several hand written original lyrics sheets, photographs, and more.  It’s a must see for any Clash Fan. ...
