The pool parties have become a staple of Punk Rock Bowling these past few years. Don’t have time to shower after pogoing all day on the asphalt under the Vegas sun? Hop in the pool the next morning and hear some rad music while you’re at it.

This year, the PRB team did a great job not only at diversifying the pool lineups by including bands from sold-out club shows. Case in point, 88 Fingers Louie. The Chicago skatepunk/melodic hardcore band has been absent from Vegas for at least a decade, and local fans were understandably downtrodden when their gig with Strung Out at the Las Vegas Country Saloon sold out in a matter of seconds.

So those fans were given a reprieve, with the help of 11th Street Records, the Double Down and SquidHat, with Vegas’ own Mercy Music and Franks and Deans in the opening slots. The only thing that could have made it better was if they emptied the pool and handed out skateboards while the perfect shredding soundtrack was playing.
