Images: Jesse Pino Band November 7, 2011 at the Palace Station

Friend of the site and real life friend Jesse Pino played a late night showcase with his band last night at the Palace Station. The set up was certainly interesting, with the band headlining the theatre usually reserved for comedian Louie Anderson.

In the opening slots were an indie, Killer’s type band and a cover band, something that is certainly at home in a casino lounge. Pino had the biggest draw, with me and about a dozen other 20 somethings decked out in our best band shirts outnumbering the next biggest group – elderly tourist who were sleepy and needed a dark room with chairs to relax – by about 3-1.

This was my first time seeing Pino with his new band, which features PIV photographer Tyler Newton on bass, and even though I’m bias I think they’re a great compliment to his sound and can’t wait to hear more.
