Killing Joke Cancel Tour, Punk Rock Bowling Appearance

Bad news tonight for fans looking forward to catching Killing Joke at this year’s Punk Rock Bowling festival.

Unfortunately, the British post-punk band, who was also scheduled to play Chaos in Tejas as well as a number of headlining dates across the United States and Canada, has canceled their upcoming U.S. tour due to illness. And with that, their Punk Rock Bowling appearance is no more.

While not much is known at this time, our best wishes go out to the members of Killing Joke.

Now to the question everyone is asking: who will be replacing Killing Joke on the Punk Rock Bowling lineup?

Punk Rock Bowling and BYO Records founder Shawn Stern posted on the BYO PUNK ROCK BOWLING Facebook group that Killing joke’s replacement “will not be Youth Brigade or 7 Seconds or GBH or Subhumans.”

He went on to answer fan questions by saying “NOFX or Peter & The Test Tube Babies” are definitely NOT going to be replacing Killing Joke and also added that “getting a band over from the UK just isn’t realistic” given the short, 2 1/2 week notice.

We will bring you more information on the lineup change as it’s announced.
