Celebrating it’s 10-year anniversary, the Life is Shit festival is returning to the Dive Bar this weekend. It is a free/donation event, starting at 4:20pm with our homies in Bell Toll, and ending with it’s last act Vicious Vampira going on at 2AM. Life Is Shit Festival Returns to The Dive Bar Saturday, Sept 23
Life is Shit Festival is a DIY music festival founded in 2013 by members of the Las Vegas music community. It was started as a free punk/rock alternative to the corporate, pop-oriented Life is Beautiful Festival, but quickly became a cultural institution of its own.
Despite its name, Life is Shit makes life less shitty for some, serving as a fundraiser each year for local charity Girls Rock Vegas — a summer camp and after-school program which teaches underprivileged, adolescent girls in Las Vegas how to develop a positive self-image by playing rock music. Fundraising is achieved through donations at the door, an instrument drive and a raffle, with prizes donated by bands and many Las Vegas businesses, including recording studios, record stores, and tattoo shops.
In addition to 14 amazing bands, most of which are local (two of this year’s bands are Nashville-based), Life is Shit Festival will feature an outdoor “Outhouse Stage” for poetry, in addition to artist booths, vendors and contests for prizes. Join us Saturday, September 23, 2023 at The Dive Bar, 4110 S. Maryland Pkwy for the 11th Annual Life is Shit Festival!
