Music: Candy Warpop ‘Mirrored Sky’

Today we’re bringing you a full stream of Mirrored Sky, the new EP from art punks Candy Warpop, which was recorded last summer at National Southwestern Recording/11th Street Records by Ronald Corso after a successful Kickstarter campaign.

On this EP, the psychedelic Vegas band tackles quite an array of topics lyrically, as guitarist Joshua Cohen explains:

“Lyrical content ranges from a biting manifesto against sexual harassment (“Pigs!”), a psychedelic journey through the desert in a fast automobile (“888MECA”), a celebration of individuality in the face of adversity (“You vs the World”), and a study of what makes one human, using the 18th century French feral child Victor of Aveyron as a metaphor.”

The EP will be available tomorrow, April 1, in a variety of places, including iTunes and Spotify. Fans looking to get the EP with a few extra perks are in luck, as the Bandcamp edition will feature five bonus tracks recorded live for KUNV Neon Reverb Radio. Hand-painted physical copies will be available in limited quantities.

If you like what you hear, you can catch Candy Warpop live on May 6 as part of Friday Noise @ Photo bang bang.
