Taking Back Sunday, The Used, more announced for Extreme Thing 2014

The first batch of bands for the 2014 Extreme Thing Sports & Music Festival were announced today. The festival, taking place on Saturday, March 29 at Desert Breeze Park, is headlined by 2000’s-era emo superstars Taking Back Sunday and The Used, who previously shared the stage in Vegas at The Huntridge way back on January 11, 2003 (that show also featured Blood Brothers, who are sadly still broken up and therefore not playing Extreme Thing).

The bulk of the lineup announced so far definitely focused on the “extreme” side of things, mostly eschewing the ska and alt rock bands of recent Extreme Things in favor of metal (Killswitch Engage), extreme metal (Thy Art Is Murder) and post-hardcore (letlive.) Side note – if you go to this event and don’t watch letlive. you’re making a huge mistake.

You can see the list of already announced bands below and you can purchase tickets starting Saturday through Ticketmaster:

Main Stage 1: Taking Back Sunday, The Used, Crown the Empire, Tonight Alive, letlive.

Main Stage 2: Bring Me the Horizon, Killswitch Engage, Of Mice & Men, Emmure, Thy Art is Murder, Issues, Volumes

New Beat Fund and Survive This! were also announced via the Extreme Thing Facebook page and it has also been rumored (and shared by The Used) that Finch will be playing this year as the mainstage’s currently veiled mystery band, marking their return to the festival for the first time since 2002. But until official word comes out, take that with a grain of salt.

Pricing structure:
$20.00 General admission
$35.00 Combo Pkg includes GA Tkt/Event T-shirt/Event Poster
$40.00 Main Stage Lounge (Must be 21+) (includes GA Ticket/Beer Garden/Bleacher Seating area access to IADT Stage only) limited to 500 capacity
