The Gashers stream ‘In Trust We Bleed,’ talk songwriting, The O’Jays and the Peccadilloes

Today we’re bringing you a full stream of In Trust We Bleed, the sophomore album from Vegas punk band The Gashers. The album will be available in person at The Double Down this Friday, July 1, and it will be released digitally through SquidHat Records on the same day.

In Trust We Bleed is an album inspired by loss and perseverance, as the band describes: “When we began to write for In Trust We Bleed we had just experienced the loss of some very near and dear friends. Inspired by the reality that we were taking for granted the company of the true-quality people around us and not one more minute would be wasted on acknowledging the negative energy of others. Not to worry, we still express our frustration with the government all the corruption & greed in the world while tirelessly encouraging you to fight, unite and know your rights!”

The Gashers boasts members of the Peccadilloes amongst their lineup, though as they explain, the writing process between the two bands varies: “The writing process with The Gashers is a bit different than it is with our 5 piece band, Peccadilloes, in the sense that a Peccadilloes song is usually a group event. One person starts off with a riff or a lyric or a beat, then everyone jumps in down the line with their own contribution. With The Gashers, a 3 piece, we often either individually or as a pair come up with a complete song then present it to the other like a gift. A very awesome, very personal gift that they can now add piece of themselves to.”

The album was recorded, mixed and mastered at the Tone Factory in Las Vegas by Vinnie Castaldo, a producer whose credits range from All American Rejects to Phil Collins: “This will be the third time we have used Vinnie, between two albums with Peccadilloes and now the new Gashers album, and we love Recording with Vinnie. His studio is clean and loaded with great gear and a laid back atmosphere. The studio itself is extremely professional and makes for a pleasant experience. To be honest I had no idea he worked with Mr. Phil Collins, but while we were laying tracks, The O’ Jays were chillin’ at the studio that was pretty cool! Vinnie is just a good dude who we know will deliver a great recording.”

If you like what you hear, you can catch the band live at the In Trust We Bleed release show this Friday, July 1, at the Double Down Saloon.
