Vegas Archive: Tomorrows Gone/Faded Grey

I mentioned a few months back in my Times Past article how influential late 90s Vegas hardcore band Faded Grey and their precursor Tomorrows Gone were to the development of my musical tastes. Their unique blend of melodic hardcore and youth crew styles really opened up my idea of what punk rock could be and I consider myself very lucky that I was able to see them live so many times before their break up in 2002. While I still hear their influence in the modern scene, I’ve realized that it’s more of a filtered influence. Bands influence bands, which influence other bands, and so on. And because that original influence often gets lost in the shuffle, I meet a lot of people who have never listened to Faded Grey or Tomorrows Gone before.

So in an attempt to remedy this, we at Punks in Vegas are teaming up with Tomorrows Gone/Faded Grey vocalist Lance Wells for a series of Tomorrows Gone and Faded Grey digital re-releases, making these recordings available again (and some for the first time). Each installment of the series will feature cool extras from Wells including commentary and photos as well as a free stream and download of the albums, and you can look for the first entry this Friday. It’s an exciting project that I’ve wanted to do for a long time now and I’m glad to have this opportunity. I hope these songs will inspire people the same way they inspired me.
