The Menzingers’ latest record On the Impossible Past is hands down my favorite release of the year so far. So much so, that I used my bachelor party weekend to catch the guys play a show in Pomona earlier this year. On July 13, they finally made their return to Vegas after a 3-year absence and I was lucky enough to bring them in for a Stripped Down Session. Filmed backstage at the House of Blues, frontmen Tom May and Greg Barnett belt out an acoustic version of “Burn After Writing” and an electric/acoustic hybrid of “Gates,” both from On the Impossible Past.
