I’ve wanted to film with Mixtapes since the series first launched two years ago. I love their acoustic stuff (“Hey Baby,” anyone? And in a completely different direction, the heartbreakingly beautiful “Anna Maria”), so I knew they’d be perfect for a Stripped Down Session.
I was ecstatic that the band finally made it out to Vegas and we met up before their July 18 show at Eagle Aerie Hall to film “Happy and Poor,” from their excellent new album Ordinary Silence.
