Punk Rock Bowling expands to two weekends in two cities, Flogging Molly, Descendents, Cock Sparrer and Flag set to headline

Christmas is coming a little early this year, with the Stern Brothers acting as our very own punk rock Santas. And the gift? Information on the 18th annual Punk Rock Bowling festival!

So who’s confirmed to be playing this year? How does Flogging Molly, Descendents, Cock Sparrer, Flag, The Exploited, Dag Nasty, Subhumans, Dillinger Four, Anti-Nowhere League, Youth Brigade and the Dwarves sound?

The biggest surprise is that the festival is expanding, taking place over five days in Vegas and then over three in Asbury Park, New Jersey. (We’re assuming the NJ addition is just to make it even easier for PRB stalwarts The Bouncing Souls to play).

Note: More bands are still to be announced and some bands will not appear in both cities.

Update: Descendents and Flag will be appearing in both cities. Flogging Molly, Dillinger Four and Dwarves are Vegas only, while Cock Sparrer and Anti-Nowhere League will be appearing only at the Jersey gig.

So why two weekends? According to festival co-founder Mark Stern: “Not only are we are excited to bring Punk Rock Bowling back to downtown Las Vegas, but to finally bring our festival to Asbury Park, is a dream we’ve been talking about for years. What better place on the east coast is there for our fans who have wanted to experience our world of bowling, punk rock, and a gathering of our closest friends. Throw in an ocean view and the infamous Asbury Park Boardwalk and I think you’ve got yourself a great weekend.”

The Vegas dates will once again be held surrounding Memorial Day weekend, May 26-30 in downtown Las Vegas, but things will kickoff on Thursday instead of its usual Friday. Fans in Jersey can look forward to three days a few weeks later, June 10-12.

More info about the festival can be found at punkrockbowling.com. While you’re waiting, why not check out all of our previous Punk Rock bowling coverage here.
