Stripped Down Session: Bogtrotter’s Union (two songs)

Folk outfit Bogtrotter’s Union is one of the most fun live bands we’ve got in our city. If you enjoy stomping your feet and clapping your hands along with Old Man Markley or Larry and His Flask, then you need to open up a new tab and download Bogtrotter’s Union’s Call It What You Will EP from Bandcamp pronto.

They also enjoy a good Simpsons reference, so make sure next time you catch them live you ask for Super Nintendo Chalmers and see if you can convince them to cover The Be Sharps’ “Baby On Board.”

We met up with the sextet at their House of Wonk (which, if memory serves me, is hosting a pretty out of this world show this week) to record two songs. The first, “Verbs,” comes from the aforementioned Call It What You Will EP while the second is a cover of Brown Bird’s “Down To The River,” dedicated to the memory of the folk band’s frontman David Lamb, who sadly passed away earlier this year.
